Isaac's First Day at Forest Park Montessori!

Melissa had to go back to work, so Isaac started daycare. He seems to be doing great there, though Mom and Dad are having a tougher transition. His teacher says that he only cries when he needs to eat and he loves playing with toys on the floor!

Isaac loves laying on his exercise mat and playing with all his toys. He's making lots of cute noises. This entertains him for about 30 minutes and allows us to eat dinner or get things done! Of course, it's so fun to watch him also.

Melissa's brother, Dave, was home for the funeral, so he got to meet Isaac for the first time.

Melissa's uncle Bo passed away after battling ALS for 7 years. We attended the funeral services in Fort Wayne over the 4th of July weekend. Terry was an amazing man and he will be missed greatly.

Grandma and Grandpa Dempsey Visit

Melissa had to travel to Minneapolis on the 27th to give a talk, so David and Doris came to help Dave take care of Isaac. It was so hard for Melissa to be away, but everyone survived and Isaac was in great hands!

Grandma Ternet's visit

Melissa's mom, Karen, visited for three days to help us set up our new kitchen! Yes, we finally have a functional kitchen! There's still a few last things for the remodel, then we'll post some photos.

Isaac and Melissa hung out at Dani Kiefer's house all day today because the paint fumes in our house were pretty strong. Isaac tried Amelia's bouncy seat and was really interested in the toys!!

We finally finished Isaac's room, so he can now sleep in his crib. Melissa is a very light sleeper, so having him in our room meant that she didn't sleep much at all. We all slept much better after he moved to his own room.

Last day in Fort Wayne

Melissa and Isaac spent ~2 weeks in Fort Wayne staying with Melissa's mom, Karen. Unfortunately, Isaac attended his first funeral because Melissa's uncle Jerry passed away. Otherwise, we had a great time staying with grandma and really appreciate all of her help! We missed Dave so much, though, and couldn't wait to get back. Here is a photo of Isaac with great-grandma Ternet and one of him lounging at Karen's.

Happy Mother's Day

David and Doris drove to Fort Wayne to visit us for Mother's Day. The five of us, along with my mom, had lunch at Triangle Park to celebrate.

Isaac Dennis Dempsey arrives 3 weeks early!

Okay, I know this post is very overdue, but the last 2 weeks have been quite hectic! My water broke early this morning. The pregnant photo was taken in our dining room (the remodeling is on the other side of the plastic). I started having contractions around 4pm, and we went to the hospital around 5:30. The delivery went extremely fast and he was born at 7pm! Isaac was ready to come out (even if we weren't quite ready).

Kitchen remodel underway

Our kitchen/bath remodel finally began April 9th and demolition is underway. The first photo shows our kitchen before remodeling. The next photos are taken just after demolition. Drywall is going up now and we'll post some updated photos as soon as we can.
